Atlas Spintite Threaded Inserts Designed For Fast and Easy One-Sided Installation
Atlas® SpinTite® blind threaded inserts offer ideal solutions for "blind" attachment applications where only one side of a panel is accessible for assembly. These inserts install quickly and easily from the accessible "front" side with only a single mating screw required to complete final component attachment.
Among other benefits, these inserts will provide strong, permanent threads in thin panels of any hardness; install any time during production, even in painted panels; allow for close-to-edge mounting; and install with light, compact, and cost-effective tooling using spin/spin technology.
An added advantage is that during fastener installation, several thin sheets of dissimilar materials can be assembled before attaching final components. This capability eliminates any need to perform spot welding or other secondary operations, which can save production steps, time, and costs.
These aluminum, brass, steel and stainless steel fasteners serve as practical alternatives to tapped holes, weld nuts, rivets, and self-drilling or tapping screws and can promote close-to-edge mounting. They can be used in panels of any hardness as thin as .020"/0.51mm.
Types include half-hex shank low-profile head, rib-wall minimized-profile head, rib-wall low-profile head, thin-wall low-profile head, and swaging low-profile head. Thread sizes range from #6-32 through 1/2"-16 and M4 through M10.
