Crash Protection For Robots
For more than ten years, ATAM Systems has provided dependable process monitoring systems to protect CNC machines. Now ATAM has introduced the 4000R designed specifically to provide crash protection for robots. The ATAM-4000R sends a trip signal to the robot controller within one millisecond of detecting a crash. This immediate reaction upon collision minimizes, or avoids, serious damage to the robot tooling, fixtures and process material. The 4000R limits crash-induced downtime and expensive fixture repair.
Reliable on a wide variety of robot applications, including part loading and assembly, the ATAM-4000R is simple to install so that protection can begin within minutes. An integrated modem allows for direct real time communication with ATAM technical service. Jim Reed, ATAM s National Sales and Marketing Manager, states the initial cost of the 4000R is so economical that just one incident of avoided crash damage more than pays for the system.
