Advance Warning is Key to Saving Lives

ISSAQUAH, Wash., April 23 -- CentrAlert(R), Incorporated today announced release of Notifier(TM) - a secure messaging system capable of reaching thousands of computer and cell phone users at a time.

"Critically important messages sent by Notifier(TM) get read," said Jeff Whattam, P.E., President of CentrAlert(R), Inc. "That's because Notifier(TM) grabs control of computer screens to display important information. It doesn't let go until the user closes the screen message," he said. "Closing the message automatically sends an acknowledgement back to the system administrator," he added.

According to a company spokesperson, Notifier(TM) uses the XMPP protocol - recently approved for use on US Department of Defense computers - for secure messaging.

"Notifier(TM) operates either as a module in the CentrAlert(R) EOS(TM) (emergency operating system) or as a standalone system," according to Rod Schrader, VP of sales. "When combined with CentrAlert(R) EOS(TM) a single computer mouse click can notify thousands of computer and cell phone users and activate public warning devices such as sirens, reader boards, and radio broadcasts, "said Schrader.

"Emergency systems operators used to have a separate controller for each device, but with CentrAlert(R) EOS(TM) they can now control everything from a single PC interface," says Whattam. "It definitely cuts down on operator error in stressful situations," he added.

CentrAlert(R) EOS(TM) has been endorsed by Whelen Engineering Company, Inc. of Chester, CT as the only computer based controller to operate its line of outdoor warning sirens according to Whattam.

A company spokesperson noted that CentrAlert(R) EOS(TM) is operational in communities and industrial plants across the country and in US military bases around the globe. CentrAlert(R), Incorporated sells its products only through authorized dealers.
