Tamper-Evident NeckBander is High-Speed, High Precision

WHO BENEFITS? High-volume producers of smoothies, dairy drinks, energy drinks, teas, juices, water, Acai, coffees, functional drinks and "hot fill" beverages . . . bottlers and food processors who want high speed plus quick change-over capability

April 9, 2007. Norwalk, CT. PDC International Corporation, a global manufacturer of precision packaging systems, has patented and commercialized its R series high-speed, tamper evident neck banders ("shrinkbanders")

PDC "R" Series Shrinkbanders are the fastest machines in their class, banding at line speeds up to 1000 cpm. Engineered for 24/7 service, with continuous material web flow that doesn't pause for cutting, R Series machines apply, with exceptional precision and repeatability, 1-3" diameter bands at heights up to 2.375". This makes them well-suited to a very broad range of consumer packaged goods.

PDC R-Series Shrinkbanders have the unique capability to apply thin gauge (1.5 to 2 mils, 40 to 50 micron) banding materials, and are compatible with all petroleum-based and sustainable films, including PVC, PET, PETG, OPS and PLA films.

R Series Shrinkbanders are single-headed, in-line, tamper evident shrinkbanders that are production-proven, highly ergonomic, and easy to use. The operator interface is an Allen Bradley touch screen; systems can be supplied with a "splice-on-the-fly" accumulator unwind stand that eliminates the downtime traditionally required for roll changes. Changing from one product to the next is quick and efficient, thanks to PDC's tool-less changeover feature and motorized height adjustment. Optional equipment includes downstream photo eye, splice detection and bar code verification, and other specialty sensors. Full enclosure, optional all-stainless steel construction, and NEMA-4X electrical enclosures allow R Series systems to integrate with any production environment.

Like all PDC packaging systems, the R Series was designed using off-the-shelf, readily available components. PDC manufactures a broad range of stand-alone neckbanding machinery, in addition to the new inline R Series Shrinkbanders, which can also be added as modules on labeling machinery.
