Scott Brothers Introduces Its Bioclimatic Evaporative Air Conditioners for Reliable, Safe, Cost-Effective Cooling

(March 20, 2007) Scott Brothers Ltd., the expert in portable cooling and heating solutions, announces the launch of its innovative new range of high performance evaporative bioclimatic air-conditioning units. The new Bioclimatic Convair appliances operate with windows and doors open, providing dependable cooling in a totally safe, cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. With the UK market for portable air-conditioning units estimated at £52 million and rapidly growing, the coolers offer a profitable investment for hardware, garden, electrical and conservatory equipment retailers. As well as low energy usage, they provide a high cooling effect and may be used both indoors and outdoors. The Convair Bioclimatic unit is now available in a new titanium colourway.

During hot weather, most people prefer to leave the windows and doors of their living rooms, bedrooms, conservatories, offices and shops open. Traditional refrigerative units do not suit this requirement as they only work efficiently with windows and doors closed. Convair is designed to work with windows and doors open and is totally environmentally friendly using no refrigerant chemicals, thus causing no end-of-life disposal problems.

Another major benefit of Convair Bioclimatic air-conditioners is that they use less energy than a 100W light bulb. This is particularly important when considering that most consumers expect increases of their energy expenses as high as 80% per year over the next few years. Furthermore, Convair appliances overcome all shortcomings of cheap Far-Eastern evaporative coolers, which are both ineffective and badly designed.

Convair coolers are also 55 times more powerful than cheap Far-Eastern evaporative units. Most of these units are supplied with an ice block to aid cooling, however tests have demonstrated that the ice block provides less than one degree reduction in temperature. Moreover, an ice block thaws out in under an hour and requires three hours in the freezer during which time energy is used and the heat generated by the freezer entirely negates the tiny, short-lived benefit. With its superior production quality Convair has no requirement for an ice block and is capable of cooling the air temperature to seven degrees lower than any comparative air conditioning unit, delivering 4.7 times more cooling power.

The Bioclimatic Convair evaporative air-conditioning units are available in two colours, white and a new look titanium, to suit varying design requirements and they are packaged in full colour boxes. They are also extremely lightweight meaning that they can easily be repositioned. The units are distributed in the UK exclusively by Scott Brothers Ltd. who provide aftersales, in-store merchandising and training support to all retailers stocking the appliances. All units are guaranteed for 2 years and retail from £199.

Evaporative Cooling unit

I saw one of your evaporative cooling units at a local car service shop. I am interested in a portable cooling unit to supplement our heat pump unit for a 4400 sq foot auditorium that will be have 350-400 people attending an indoor concert.
