Spring Testing System provides 300% overload capacity.

March 26, 2007 - Designed to perform testing on tension and compression springs and other spring-type products, motorized SF1390 Series features floor-standing design with 2 lead screws and 2 precision guide columns. Servo drive controls frame's loading crosshead for fully automatic load testing with speeds up to 1,000 mm/min. Available in frame capacities of 11,250 and 22,500 lbf, system automatically corrects for height errors due to machine and load cell deflection.

Instron® Announces Its New Sf1390 Series Motorized Spring Testing System

Partner(TM) Software Enhances the SF Series Creating a Superior Spring Testing Solution

Instron, a leading provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, introduces its SF1390 motor-driven spring testing system. Designed to perform testing on tension and compression springs and other spring-type products, the user-friendly SF Series is ideal for spring manufacturers and end-users.

Instron's SF1390 Series features a robust floor standing design with two lead screws and two precision guide columns for maximum stiffness. A servo drive controls the frame's loading crosshead for fully automatic load testing with speeds up to 1,000 mm/min. The SF1390 Series is available in two frame capacities: 50 kN (11,250 lbf) and 100 kN (22,500 lbf). Instron's heavy-duty spring testing load cells incorporate mechanical overload stops and at least 300 percent overload capacity, minimizing the chance of load cell damage during overload conditions. Additionally, height errors due to machine and load cell deflection are automatically corrected by the system's electronics to provide accurate spring height measurements.

Controlled by Instron's Partner(TM) software, it is designed to manage and automate the entire spring testing process. Load and height data are continuously collected during the nonstop test stroke. Load versus height graphs and test results are clearly displayed and results are stored in an accessible database via a network connection or printed in a customizable report.
