Captured Axle Suspension System provides 25,000 lb capacity.

Suitable for drum or disk brakes, RAR-247 underslung trailer suspension features low stress axle connection. Trailing beam attaches to 1/2 in. thick axle sleeve, while window welds attach axle sleeve to axle, eliminating weld termination stresses. System includes 1/8 in. alignment at each hanger, Securelok(TM) pivot nut, and solid, monopivot bushing clamped into beam. Providing mounting heights of 6.5-9 in., suspension is suited for lowboy, oilfield float, and logging trailers.

Ridewell Introduces Captured Axle Suspension System
Ridewell Suspensions has developed a new captured axle suspension system. The model RAR-247 has a capacity rating of 25,000 lbs. and is a low-mount, heavy-duty underslung trailer suspension. The system is suitable for drum or disk brakes. Key applications for Ridewell's RAR-247 include lowboy, oilfield float and logging trailers.
Key features of Ridewell's 247 include:
o Low stress axle connection - the trailing beam attaches to ½" thick axle sleeve; window welds attach axle sleeve to the axle, eliminating weld termination stresses; and beam structure is centered in-line between pivot and axle;
o Proven reliable pivot connection - much like Ridewell's Monopivot 240 series, the 247 includes 1/8" alignment at each hanger; solid, monopivot bushing, clamped into the beam for easy servicing; and Securelok(TM) pivot nut;
o Integrated mounting for shock absorber and height control system on hanger and beam;
o Drum and disc brake compatible; and
o Mounting heights of 6.5" to 9".
Ridewell introduced the Model 247 at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN March 7-9, 2007.
