Wonderware's Equipment Operations Module Version 2.0 Enables More Powerful Traceability Solutions
LAKE FOREST, Calif., March 7, 2007 -- Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, today announced a new version of its Equipment Operations Module, which is designed to help manufacturers and other industrial sites improve the consistency and effectiveness of their plant operations.
Several innovative enhancements have been added to this updated version. The latest release includes powerful, easy-to-use functionality that further improves a customer's ability to meet demands for end-to-end traceability of materials, equipment and other resources across manufacturing processes.
Offering compatibility with the ISA-95 industry standard, version 2.0 includes enhanced genealogy functions for correlating events and information captured across multiple areas and process segments, leading to faster implementations and more comprehensive solutions. In addition, several usability enhancements have been made that enable customers to execute activities consistently and provide accurate visibility into the status of operations.
"Wonderware has seen a rapid adoption of the Equipment Operations Module 1.0," said Claus Abildgren, marketing program manager for production and performance management at Wonderware. "While customers operate across a wide variety of different industries, they appreciate the ability to gradually evolve functional capabilities. As customers gain more understanding of their processes, they can make incremental improvements to achieve true operational excellence. The increased knowledge that they gain from having complete 'as built' records gives customers more comprehensive insights into their operations picture."
The Equipment Operations Module runs on the Wonderware System Platform and leverages the new capabilities of Wonderware Information Server 3.0. The Equipment Operations Module takes advantage of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and offers powerful "out-of-the-box" production and genealogy reports that rapidly help manufacturers improve operations and protect brand integrity.
The underlying ArchestrA industrial automation and information application architecture provides manufacturers with the means to seamlessly extend their supervisory HMI and SCADA applications into a more advanced production and performance management system. This strategy allows for an incremental, low-risk deployment of increased application functionality.
