Microsoft Windows Vista Compatible Radmin 3.0 Remote Control Software Ships With 4X Performance Boost
Radmin, adds Vista compatibility, 4X Performance Boost, advanced 256-bit AES encryption and Collaboration in its 3.0 version while holding its low price point leadership
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 6 / -- Famatech, a leading provider of remote control software for enterprise and SOHO networks, is now shipping its new Radmin 3.0 software, branded "supersonic remote control", as one of the first remote access products to be fully compatible with Windows Vista, while improving up to four times the speed of its previous version. In light of the complex nature of Vista's virtual screens and transparent layers that need support, Famatech and the Radmin development team are noting this as a significant accomplishment for the remote access products world.
Continuing its tradition of wire speed performance, where IT administrators essentially experience the same performance working on remote computers as if they were local, Radmin 3.0 leverages its innovative DirectScreenTransfer(TM) technology, a new generation video hook driver. This technology provides the top speed in its class from initial benchmark tests, significantly increasing screen updates per second, while decreasing CPU usage and other resources. DirectScreenTransfer(TM) receives data directly from Windows, before it gets to the video RAM. Radmin 3.0 received a digital signature from Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Lab after Windows compatibility test results concluded that DirectScreenTransfer(TM) works with all versions of Windows, from Windows 2000 to Windows Vista.
"During our evaluation and benchmarking, we found Radmin 3.0 to be significantly faster than any other remote access product and it ran seamlessly over our new Vista OS workstations," says Carl Taylor, IT Manager of ATA. "We have to support workstations remotely all over the country for hundreds of our transcriptionists, many of whom are working in a SOHO environment running dial-up, cable modem and DSL so performance is everything for us."
Radmin gets voice and text collaboration functionality in 3.0. This new feature allows users to communicate securely and in real-time as well as hold online conferences. Text chat mode allows users to conduct group discussions or private conversations. Public channels allow users to speak to the open forum while the conference channels allow for directed private communication. Both types of communication features, together with remote cursor shape support, make Radmin 3.0 fully enabled for application and desktop sharing and data presentation.
Protecting data from interception or malicious attack, Radmin's new security system include latest industry features like Windows Security, 256 bit AES data encryption, NTLM/Kerberos and Active Directory. User authentication is substantiated by a modified Diffie-Hellman 2048 bit algorithm. Access rights are individualized for each user and special IP- filter tables restrict access to specific IP addresses and sub-networks.

Radmin 3.0 also supports simultaneous connections and multiple monitors to the same computer. Other functionalities include fast user switching for Windows XP and Vista, phonebook folder and file management, availability scan for Radmin Servers, mouse wheel support, and system tray minimize option in main window.
Radmin 3.0 has two modules: Radmin Viewer and Radmin Server. Radmin Viewer 3.0 is fully compatible with previous versions of Radmin Server. Licensing is needed only for Radmin Server while Radmin Viewer is free. Users who would like to upgrade their previous versions to Radmin 3.0 can take advantage of license key equivalent exchange. The licensing cost of Radmin 3.0 is US$49.
