Video Server targets homeland security market.


March 15, 2007 - Based on TI's DaVinci(TM) technology, Pegasus Video Server includes software that enables integration with video content analysis providers. Equipped with Micron CMOS sensor, camera-ready unit supports video codecs such as MPEG4 and H.264 with high-resolution capabilities, including option to extract megapixel JPEG images. Pegasus also supports video streaming, comprehensive analytic solutions, onboard storage options, and USB connectivity.

Mango DSP Introduces the First Camera-Ready Intelligent Video Server Based on TI's DaVinci(TM) Technology


Mango to launch the Pegasus Embedded Solution at TI Developer Conference

JERUSALEM, March 6 / -- Mango DSP, a leading provider of advanced video solutions for the CCTV, Homeland Security and Defense markets, announced today the launch of the Pegasus Embedded Solution, an intelligent video server (IVS) developed by Mango DSP and based on Texas Instruments Incorporated's DaVinci(TM) technology. Mango's new solution is comprised of the Pegasus video server and IVS software and is designed to deliver a comprehensive solution for the unique requirements of the Homeland Security market.

Pegasus spawns innovation with its open API -- the analytic hooks of IVS software for DaVinci technology. The software enables fast and simple integration with video content analysis providers, making the Pegasus a common video analytic platform for camera manufacturers. Mango has applied for a pending patent on its IVS software for DaVinci technology. The Pegasus is equipped with a Micron CMOS sensor and is packaged in a very small form factor enabling integration to large variety of cameras.

"There were two critical imaging requirements that Mango took into consideration when choosing their image sensor partner. Mango selected Micron based on our expertise in high sensitivity and high frame rates, which are important for capturing clear, real-time video in changing lighting conditions."

With a complete portfolio of image sensors designed for the security market, Micron is providing manufacturers with the option to choose the best sensor that matches their design needs, whether for a consumer or a commercial camera application. Micron's CMOS-based security image sensors are easy to design-in and deliver exceptional imaging performance in low light situations with both near-IR and visible sub-lux (equivalent to the light from one candle) imaging capability. Additionally, by leveraging its legacy in high- speed sensor techniques, Micron's portfolio of security image sensors provide extraordinarily high sensitivity and high frame rates, important for capturing clear, real-time video.
