One of the first products in the line to be introduced is the IMPACT READY(TM) 38-piece accessory set (DW2169), the market's first impact driver-qualified product solution on the market. The impact ready set includes DEWALT's exclusive IMPACT READY(TM) 6-point deep sockets (in the most common sizes) rated for performance in impact drivers up to 2000 in lbs of torque. The set also includes nutsetters, socket adaptors and screwdriving bits. Each bit is qualified and manufactured for optimal performance with impact drivers. The set also includes new innovative items, such as a new impact rated pivoting bit tip holder (DWPVTHLD) offering a 20-degree pivot, and new double-ended 1" bit tips (DW2002DE) featuring two usable ends. This innovative accessory set provides end users with increased functionality for applications that require the use of an impact driver.
In the last three years, usage and popularity for impact drivers has steadily increased as a result of its impact size and non-reactionary torque. After visiting jobsites and researching end user needs, DeWALT found that professional contractors needed durable impact driver accessories that could withstand a wide-range of applications. The increased level of power delivered by these tools, up to 2000 in lbs of torque, enable contractors to drive lag bolts into wood, fasten anchors into concrete and/or tighten couplings.
The 38-piece accessory set includes two new patented, IMPACT READY(TM) products. The innovative pivoting bit holder enables end users ultimate accessibility with 20 degrees of flex, eliminating the need for most right angle attachments. An auto-locking feature prevents accidental pivoting and allows normal straight use, combining the performance of a standard stainless steel bit tip holder with the benefit of 20 degree pivot if needed for tight space fastening. Durable stainless steel construction, powerful magnet, hog retention ring and a 1/4" hex shank are added product benefits of the pivot-holder. The new 1" double-ended bit tips provide two usable ends, offering twice the usage and half the bit changes. These bit tips fit in all bit tip holders, drive guides, drywall guns, and drivers. The set also includes the most commonly used 6 point IMPACT READY(TM) thin walled deep sockets, including 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" sizes. Additionally, the impact ready 5/16" and 1/4" nut setters and 3/8" socket adaptors are qualified to withstand impact driver torque. The double ended bit tips, standard #2 Phillips 1" & 2" bit tips, as well as the #2 Phillips reduced diameter drywall bits have been optimized for best in class fitment in fasteners and are qualified for extended durability in impact driver tools.
