Proceq is pleased to announce a new product for metal hardness testing - the EQUOTIP 3. Proceq has taken today's technology and combined it with over 30 years of experience and customer suggestions to create the EQUOTIP 3 - a portable instrument that offers extended capabilities and unmatched ease of operation.
The EQUOTIP 3 has a large graphic display with adjustable contrast and backlight to make viewing test results easy. Along with the test results and statistics, all relevant test parameters are shown on the screen. Intuitive menus, soft function keys, and windows-like control structure make operation of the EQUOTIP 3 simple. The user profiles of the EQUOTIP 3 allow instrument setup to be configured for each user, and password protection provides additional security if desired.
Impact direction is detected automatically with the new EQUOTIP 3 impact devices, and the corresponding correction is applied to give an accurate reading. Manual setting of impact direction is still supported for special applications and to provide backward compatibility with older impact devices. Conversion of test results into all common hardness scales is available for most materials, and can be changed at any time - even during testing. In addition, customer defined conversions can be specified and are fully integrated into the EQUOTIP 3 user interface.
The EQUOTIP 3 has a large data storage capacity of more than 100,000 readings. A Windows-like directory structure with alphanumeric file names makes organization of stored data simple. Data is stored together with all important measurement information such as statistics, date and time, unit serial number, impact device type and serial number, applied conversion, and tolerance limits. The EQUOTIP 3 is equipped with RS232, USB and Ethernet interfaces to provide for remote control, data transfer, and even direct printout to most printers. The EQUOLINK 3 software included with the EQUOTIP 3 supports data transfer and evaluation on a PC as well as upgrading the instrument's software from the internet at no extra charge.
The EQUOTIP 3 is powered by a mains adapter, an internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack (both included) or three standard C primary cells. Operating time of the EQUOTIP 3 is at least 10 hours on batteries, with user configurable power conservation modes to extend operating time. The EQUOTIP 3 weighs only 780 g (plus approx. 120 g battery back) and measures 170 x 200 x 45 mm and is protected against splash water and dust (protection class IP54).
