Norplex-Micarta Announcers New RT500 Tubing With Superior Wall Bond Strength
POSTVILLE, IA - Norplex-Micarta, the leading manufacturer of high performance thermoset composites, introduces a new tubing material, RT500. RT500 is made with an epoxy resin and texturized woven fiberglass, which provides superior wall bond strength and high resistance to delamination. These properties are especially advantageous when using tubes with a large diameter and thick walls. The material is also easily machined.
RT500 can be manufactured in standard lengths of 36" and 48" (914mm - 1,219mm) with inside diameters ranging from 0.750" - 48" (19.1mm - 1,219mm), outside diameters ranging from 0.875" - 50" (22.3mm - 1,270mm), and wall thickness ranging from 0.062" - 1" (1.57mm - 25.4mm). RT500 is used primarily in electrical markets and pipeline applications where its electrical insulation properties are required. Other typical applications include rings, collars, inserts, bushings, cryogenic insulation, and rotor sleeves. This composite also meets MIL-I-24768/2, NEMA G-10, and ASTM D709 Type IV Grade G-10 requirements.
