Safety Switches provide gate control in rugged environments.

February 27, 2007 - PSEN ma1.3 safety switches have 12 mm dia and are offered with round actuator for switching distances to 8 mm or with cuboid actuator with bracket for switching distances to 15 mm. Able to monitor setting and position of movable guards, non-contact, magnetic switches are available with signal contact allowing status of switch to be displayed directly by connected PLC. They are approved to EN 954-1, ISO 13849-1, and EN IEC 62061 safety standards.

New Compact Safety Switch for Rugged Everyday Safety Gate Use

Various switching distances available for selection

CANTON, MI -Pilz is expanding its sensor technology product range with PSENmag non-contact, magnetic safety switches, available in compact dimensions of just 12-millimeter diameter. As well as saving installation space, with two different actuators PSEN ma1.3 safety switches are able to offer switching distances of 8 or 15 millimeters. An additional signal contact is available as a further special feature. This has the benefit of enabling the status of the safety switch to be displayed directly by a connected PLC.

With the new PSEN ma1.3 safety switches users can choose between two different actuators and thus adapt the switching distance to suit their application.

A switching distance of 8 millimeters can be achieved using the round actuator. The "cuboid" actuator with integral bracket enables a switching distance of 15 millimetres and also guarantees maximum possible freedom during installation.

PSEN ma1.3 safety switches are available with plug-in connections and pre-fitted cable.

Non-contact safety
Pilz PSENmag non-contact, magnetic safety switches monitor the setting and position of movable guards. Approved to Category 4 of EN 954-1, PL "e" of ISO 13849-1 and SIL 2 of EN IEC 62061, they meet the very highest safety requirements. These safety switches can also be used where there is heavy soiling or where strict hygiene regulations need to be met. PSENmag safety switches are also ideally suitable for applications in which it is difficult to align the gates precisely or where machine gates are subject to a high level of vibration.

Complete one-stop solution that's safe and approved
Users who combine the non-contact safety switches with proven control technology from Pilz benefit from an approved, complete solution. The components enjoy maximum compatibility. The new PSEN ma1.3 safety switches can be used in conjunction with all Pilz safety relays.
