Standard Class Mail Becomes Trackable from Desktop

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 13 -- Mailers rejoice as the Mailex Corporation releases an affordable real-time mail tracking system. Web-based tracking data is generated from an initial scan of a mailing upon induction into the USPS system. From the initial scan, the entire lifecycle of the mailing can be tracked by state, zip code and individual piece. As the mail is routed nationally, subsequent scanning takes place every step of the way. Each scan event is transmitted to a mail-tracking server and available for viewing.

"It's a remarkable advance," says Ellen Connery of the Mailex Corporation in Stamford. "This opens the door to an accountable, intelligent approach to coordinating printing and mailing with follow-up activities to generate new business opportunities."

Embracing this new, low cost technology, Mailex offers this tracking service to every mailer by incorporating the existing automated barcode with the tracking code. Taking the guesswork out of the estimated 7-10 day delivery time for Standard Class mail answers the top question all marketing executives need to know -- Did the mailing hit yet? Gone are the days of waiting and wondering if your message was delivered.

Large and small mailers can now take advantage of this technology. Prior to this break-though, USPS had offered a confirm service for a minimum annual investment of $25,000, placing mail tracking out of reach for most businesses. Low-cost tracking is now available for all Automated First Class and Standard Class mailings.

In a world where clients expect information to be available at their fingertips, by logging on with a password, the status of a mailing is available 24 hours a day. Mike DiMauro, Senior Vice President of Marketing at the American Institute of Foreign Study (AIFS), a national study abroad concern based in Stamford, aggressively tracks his direct mail programs. "With Mailex's tracking system I now have the link that has been missing. Often we have multiple mailings out simultaneously. In the online system, delivery status is available for each project."

Mailex has production facilities in Stamford, CT and Midtown Manhattan. For more information on mail tracking, contact Ellen Connery at 203-323-2466 or go to the web site www.Mailex.biz
