Drills feature dual carbide technology.

February 13, 2007 - Offering high accuracy edge preparation, HARDCORE(TM) Technology Drills feature specially designed flute profile for optimal chip evacuation, and 140° point geometry produced to zero run out for minimized wear forces. Core carbide grade is resilient to handle slower speed of tool center, while grade of outer shell is wear resistant to match higher speed of tool's cutting edges. TiAlN structure Nano coating maximizes wear resistance and temperature diffusion.

ATI Stellram's New HARDCORE Ultra High Performance Drills Cut Holemaking Costs By Up To 50%

LaVergne, TN- ATI Stellram's dual carbide HARDCORE(TM) Technology drills outrun 'high performance' drills by factors up to ...

o 4 times the tool life
o 2 times the production speed
o Half the cost per hole

The secret is ATI Stellram's patented dual carbide technology-the core carbide grade is resilient to handle the slower speed of the tool center, while the grade of the outer shell is wear resistant to match the higher speed of the tool's cutting edges.

In traditional solid carbide drills, the single grade design forces a compromise between performance and durability. As a result, the drillpoints have been prone to chipping, which is a critical factor in performance and tool life.

With ATI Stellram's HARDCORE Technology drills, there is no such compromise. HARDCORE Technology drills feature ...

o High accuracy edge preparation for better hole quality
o 140° point geometry produced to "zero" run out for reduced wear forces
o Specially designed flute profile for best chip evacuation
o TiAlN structure Nano coating for exceptional wear resistance and temperature diffusion

ATI Stellram is a business unit of ATI Metalworking Products, an operating company of Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, a leading producer of specialty metals, including titanium and titanium alloys, nickel-based alloys and superalloys, and stainless and other specialty alloys.
