LED Light Engine directs light into useable cone angle.

February 15, 2007 - Available in standard half angles of 20° and 41°, ultra high brightness LumiBright LED light engines provide means with which to couple LEDs into fiber or uniformly illuminate defined area. LumiBright optic, integrated directly to low thermal impedance chip-on-board die package, is non-imaging technique for directing LED light to produce uniform output, angularly and spatially. Available colors include UV through NIR and white.

High Power LumiBright LED Light Engine

Innovations in Optics, Inc. offers a new generation of ultra high brightness LumiBright LED light engine packages that are the most efficient way to couple LEDs into fiber or to uniformly illuminate a defined area. LumiBright light engines can direct 3X more light into a useable cone angle than conventional LED packages. LumiBright is the highest optical power and brightest LED package available. Efficiency and uniformity can be maximized with the LumiBright Light Engine optics integrated directly to the low thermal impedance "chip-on-board" die package. This translates into smaller and less expensive products with brighter and more uniform optical output. Other benefits include longer battery life and reduced thermal load.

The LumiBright optic is a patented, highly optimized non-imaging technique for directing LED light into a desired cone angle, while producing highly uniform output, both angularly and spatially. The two standard half angles are 20 and 41 degrees. Available colors include UV through near IR and white. Custom sizes and cone angles are available for sufficiently high volume products. The standard input power is 7.5 Watts, however, higher drive conditions are feasible with appropriate heat sinking.
