New gammadue® Series - J5 Indicator-Transmitter

Strain Gauge Input for Melt Pressure & Load Cell Transducers

Ascon's gammadue® Series J5 Indicator-Transmitter provides accurate measurement of melt pressure and other process variables. The J5 features a large, bright 5 digit LED display that can be configured to operate in either green or red and can be configured to change color when operating in an alarm condition. The easy to use J5 is fully configurable from the front panel, or may be configured from a PC with the available software tool. The main input is 350W Strain Gauge, linear DC voltage and DC current with square root extraction 16 segment linearizer for "custom" input. The second input with DC voltage and DC current is well suited to temperature indication and signal conditioning (minimum, maximum, average, ratio, etc...) when combined with the main input. The J5 Indicator-Transmitter is supplied standard with 3 digital inputs that are independently configurable for alarms, display, and calibration handling. Two or four alarms with ISA-A acknowledge are available as well as an optional retransmission output and optional Modbus RS485 communications. The J5 has three levels of password protection and the front panel is IP65 rated.

The 350W strain gauge bridge of the melt pressure or load cell transducer can be powered by an internally regulated 5 or 10Vdc. The reliability of the strain gauge is monitored continuously. A simple front panel calibration routine is provided to automatically remove zero and span offsets. The automatic calibration routine can also be activated by using front panel keys, one of the three standard digital inputs, or over serial communications. Tare function for load cells application is also provided.

The Ascon gammadue® Series J5 Indicator-Transmitter is designed to be the ideal instrument for meeting the most demanding pressure monitoring requirements.
