Nonstandard Polymers Available as Economical Injection-Molded Sheets
Oakdale, PA ... January 31, 2007 ... Researchers, product designers and manufacturers looking for small quantities of nonstandard grades of polymers in sheet form now have an economical alternative to high-volume extruded quantities, thanks to a range of injection-molded polymers available from Goodfellow.
Certain polymers have traditionally been extruded and available only in large minimum order quantities. However, Goodfellow is now able to supply small quantities of the following polymers as injection-molded plaques (sheets) in sizes ranging from 60 - 250 mm square and in thicknesses of 2.0 - 10.0 mm:
o polyetherimide (PEI), in black as well as amber
o glass-filled Vectra B
o glass-filled polyphenylenesulfide (PPS)
o polyphenylsulfone (PPSu)
o polymethylpentene (TPX®)
o acrylonitrile/methylacrylate copolymer (Barex®)
o polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)
Plaques are available in quantities ranging from a single piece up to small production quantities. Purchasers of small plaques have the advantage of working with a size much closer to the desired finished component, with an associated reduction in machining and waste. Detailed information about the polymers shown above as well as thousands of other materials available from Goodfellow can be found in the comprehensive Goodfellow Catalog at www.goodfellow.com (http://www.goodfellow.com/).
