Breach Security Announces General Availability of First Security Appliance with ModSecurity(TM) v2.0 Open Source Web Application Firewall

Affordable Security Appliance Now Available With Risk-Free 30-Day Trial

CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan. 30 /-- Breach Security, Inc., the leader in web application security, today announced the general availability of the ModSecurity version 2.0 open source web application firewall on a security appliance delivering the lowest cost commercial web application firewall available. Easy to deploy and manage, the ModSecurity Pro(TM) M1000 appliance includes the ModSecurity open source web application firewall, the most popular web application firewall with more than 10,000 organization deployments worldwide. The M1000 is available now with a risk-free 30-day trial.

The M1000 provides security to meet the September 2006 update to the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council Data Security Standard which set a deadline of June 2008 for any organization gathering or storing credit card numbers to implement regular code scans or deploy a web application firewall. Web application firewalls deliver real-time visibility into the security of web applications, ensuring consistent security levels beyond code scanning and secure coding initiatives. Early customers of the M1000 include online retailers such as RoadRunner Sports that rely on web applications to generate a majority of their revenue.

"Roadrunner Sports offers a highly-specialized online retail environment -- serving the running community with quality merchandise both online and at our retail stores. Knowledgeable service is the keystone to our success and the web enables us to best serve our customers," said Travis Burke, System / Network Manager, Road Runner Sports. "We simply cannot afford any downtime or vulnerabilities related to security issues for our customers. That is why we put a ModSecurity web application firewall appliance in front of our web applications -- to ensure maximum uptime, continuous service to our customers and protection for their personal information."

The M1000 includes the open source ModSecurity v2.0.4, a highly flexible web application firewall that can be used for a wide range of functions including web application monitoring, web intrusion detection and prevention, as well as "just in time" patching of known vulnerabilities. The appliance also includes a certified rule set for PCI compliance.

"The early success of the ModSecurity Pro M1000 is testament to the fast growing need for securing web applications that manage online customer transactions and other sensitive data," said Marc Shinbrood, chief executive officer, Breach Security, Inc. "The M1000 secures organizations with immediate out-of-the-box protection against the onslaught of web application attacks that threaten to leak sensitive customer data and erode the trust online shoppers currently place in the Internet shopping experience."

The ModSecurity M1000 appliance is available at the list price of $5,995.00US. First year professional support and maintenance is included at no additional charge. The PCI rule set is available with the M1000 at no additional charge for a limited time. For more information please visit www.breach.com or call 866 393 0907.
