Single-Stage Driver Amplifier covers 250-3,800 MHz range.


February 2, 2007 - Supplied in Pb-free, RoHS-compliant SOT-89 plastic package, MAAMSS0070 has usable bandwidth of 250-3,800 MHz, making it suited for general-purpose applications in wireless infrastructure. It is fabricated using GaAs MESFET process and offers output P1dB levels of +22 dBm with gain of 12 dB at 2,140 MHz. Specific uses include mobile basestation transceivers, cellular repeaters, WiMax and WiBro customer premises equipment, and medical and test equipment.

M/A-Com Expands Family of Low-Cost High Dynamic Range Driver Amplifier


New Single-Stage Driver Amplifier Developed for Wireless Applications Including Basestations, WiMAX and WiBro

LOWELL, Mass., January XX, 2007 - M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics and a leading provider of wireless radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave components, today announced a new high dynamic range, low noise, single-stage driver amplifier. The MAAMSS0070 which features a broad frequency range, high linearity, low noise figure, and exceptional reliability making this driver amplifier ideal for general purpose applications in wireless infrastructure such as Mobile Basestation Transceivers, Cellular Repeaters, WiMax and WiBro Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), Medical and Test Equipment.

"With the addition of the MAAMSS0070, M/A-COM provides system engineers with a broader array of high linearity driver amplifier solutions and compliments our existing single-stage driver amplifier offering which includes the MAAMSS0017, MAAMSS0048, MAAMSS0049 and MAAMSS0050," said Gene Ungvarsky, product manager for IC Products, M/A-COM. "We have ensured that the usable bandwidth for this amplifier is very broad, 250 to 3800 MHz, and that it is easily optimized for specific frequency bands through the use of external matching components."

M/A-COM's MAAMSS0070 is fabricated using our high reliability GaAs Metal-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MESFET) process and features output P1dB levels of +22 dBm with gain of 12 dB at 2140 MHz, while achieving high third order output intercept performance and low noise figure over a broad frequency range. All the amplifiers in this family are housed in Pb-free, RoHS compliant SOT-89 plastic packages.
