Pepperl+Fuchs Introduces Smallest, Lightest Full-Featured Bar Code Reader Available Today that Instantly Decodes all Bar and 2D Codes

TWINSBURG, OH - Pepperl+Fuchs introduces the MAH300 hand-held barcode reader. Combining premier imaging technology with a graphic display and rugged keyboard, the MAH300 is the smallest and lightest full-featured bar code reading terminal on the market today. It extends mobile all-symbology barcode reading to include information display and keyboard entry.

The MAH300 instantly reads large linear and high-density matrix symbols with unique Dynamic Optimization Technology (DOT). DOT continuously adapts the resolution, illumination, and image field for the fastest automatic symbology identification and decoding over the widest range of symbology types, sizes, recording surfaces and ambient lighting. With DOT, the MAH300 achieves matrix symbol decoding at speeds that are similar to linear bar code decoding, while preserving battery life. By monitoring each user's reading patterns, DOT reduces training time and eliminates the need for manual configuration optimization through parameter settings.

The MAH300 features a 1.3 Mega Pixel dual-field image collection engine, a 400MHz AMD Alchemy, 1100 CPU and 4MB of non-volatile memory and is capable of holding a huge number of scanned barcodes. The 1950 mAH high-capacity Lithium Ion battery, which is standard on battery powered units, and a real time clock with its own battery backup, supports portable operations and has sufficient capacity for more than an 8 hour shift of intensive factory floor use. For wireless communications, a 2.4 GHz radio system is available and compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth(TM) systems. Unlike many other wireless barcode solutions, the MAH300 has a range of 300 feet.

Pepperl+Fuchs is a world leader in the design, manufacture and application of high quality factory and process automation products and services. Pepperl+Fuchs pioneered the development of proximity sensors 45 years ago, and has set the standard for innovation and quality ever since.
