New Sinumerik HT 8 Handheld Terminal - the Ideal Mobility Solution to be Presented at Westec 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WESTEC 2007 - Booth 2728
LOS ANGELES, March 26, 2007 - The new SINUMERIK HT 8 Handheld Terminal from Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc. integrates an operator panel and a machine control panel into one compact device that enables the user to visualize machine applications running on multiple SINUMERIK NCU/PCU operations without reconfiguration. The handheld unit automatically reads the configuration from the HMI main panel of the machine to which it is connected. The HT 8 is compatible with all SINUMERIK operating panels.
The SINUMERIK HT 8 provides users with mobility in industrial environments where a rugged, compact and ergonomically-correct design is needed. It features a fully graphical 7.5" TFT color touch display, machine control keys, traversing keys for axes, an emergency stop button and two three-position enabling buttons for both left- and right-handed users. A handwheel is optional.
It can be connected to the control cabinet with connection modules or via the connection boxes. Once connected, the device instantly configures to the customer-specific applications programmed into the HMI tools. It then displays the corresponding user interface of the connected SINUMERIK NCU/PCU. Additionally, the device adapts into the emergency circuit, enabling the user to connect and disconnect the HT 8 without interrupting the operation. A holding bracket provides stationary control and monitoring.
"The SINUMERIK HT 8 Handheld gives users a convenient and cost-effective means for monitoring the operation of their machines," said Christian Kuhls, product manager, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. "One HT 8 device can be used to monitor multiple operations without the time and cost of reconfiguration."
