Wilson® Instruments Announces the New Minuteman ELT Automation Series for Tukon(TM) Microindentation/Knoop/Vickers and Rockwell® Hardness Testers

Wilson Instruments introduces the new Minuteman ELT Series of semi and fully automatic systems for Knoop, Vickers and Rockwell hardness testing. Available in four different microindentation versions - the entry level ELT1, the intermediate ELT2, and the fully automatic ELT3 - the Minuteman series provides the user with a range of features to suit their needs and budget. The ELT4 version is for Rockwell and MicroRockwell scale testers. It's like having that Extra Lab Technician you've always wanted!

When used on a microindentation tester, the Minuteman ELT series is an upgradeable system that allows the user to start with a low cost basic system and progress to a fully automatic version as their needs and budget change. The entry level ELT1 is a video filar system for measuring the indents on the computer's monitor using a virtual joystick for easy on screen operation. This greatly improves the measuring process by eliminating the eye fatigue errors common when doing manual microscope measurements.

The ELT1 has all of the powerful report writing capability of the higher level systems - multiple graphing, MS Excel export, statistics, case depth plotting, etc. The ELT2 option adds image analysis capabilities to the software to automatically measure the size of the indent, eliminating the operator completely. The Minuteman's state of the art image analysis indent program provides maximum indent measurement accuracy on a wide range of surface conditions.

The fully automatic Minuteman ELT3 offers outstanding return on investment through improved productivity. The ELT3 has the largest standard motorized stage on the market, which can easily accommodate more than one sample. The stage has a unique integrated controller that eliminates bulky hardware that takes up valuable space in your lab. An even larger stage is available to accommodate mounting for 6 standard size samples. The ELT4 is for Rockwell and MicroRockwell applications. Jominy tests and any other repetitive operations can be easily automated using this fully automatic system. Just locate the sample, push the start button and walk away. The tests will be done and your report will be automatically generated while you spend your valuable time doing something else.

All of the Minuteman ELT systems feature complete computer control of the tester for hands-off operations. You tell the computer what you want to do and it will operate the tester. There is no need for setting the test loads and optical magnifications in two places. This feature eliminates errors and the generation of flawed data.

The Minuteman ELT systems can be purchased new on Wilson Tukon(TM) 2100, and Rockwell® 2000 series of testers. In addition, retrofit kits are available for a wide range of other microhardness testers.
