Heat Frames have 2 components to promote reliability.


January 19, 2007 - Designed for military and commercial applications, custom aluminum iZIF(TM) integrates heat frame and circuit board retainer into one unit. No torque wrench or special tools are required, and features include zero insertion/extraction force; uniform clamping force and thermal distribution over entire length; ¼ turn lock/unlock (quick disconnect); and standard 1/8 SHCS-drive (Allen-key) clamping/locking rod. Thermal performance, per length, is rated equal to or under 1.2°C-in/W.

IERC Introduces New iZIF(TM) Heat Frames


BURBANK, Calif..IERC, a leading manufacturer of thermal management products, is now offering a new line of custom aluminum iZIF(TM) heat frames designed for use in rugged military and commercial applications. This new iZIF(TM) integrates a heat frame and a circuit board retainer into a single unit, thus eliminating any need for assembly while improving thermal performance.

Highlighted Features:

o iZIF(TM) is the only PCB retainer fully integrated into a heat frame*

o Zero insertion/extraction force (ZIF)

o 1/4 Turn lock/unlock - quick disconnect

o Best thermal performance per length (less than/equal to 1.2 °C-in/W)

o Uniform clamping force and uniform thermal distribution over entire length

o Consists of only two components, which results in high reliability

o No torque wrench or special tool required

o New standard 1/8 SHCS-drive (Allen-key) clamping/locking rod*
