Willson® Adds Amber and Blue Mirror Tinted Lenses to A800 Series of Safety Eyewear

New Lens Tints Increase Functionality; Offer Superior Protection at High Value

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Jan. 8, 2007 - Willson® Safety Products today announced it has extended the newly released, value-priced, Willson A800 Series line of safety eyewear with two new lens tints. The amber and blue mirror tints satisfy demanding ANSI safety standards in a stylish, functional lens ideal for general protection and low light conditions.

The yellow color of the amber lens filters out light at the blue end of the spectrum while allowing green and red light to pass through. Since green light is most easily processed by the eye, while blue light is not as efficiently focused, the amber tint lowers the haze associated with the blue light. The lenses enable clearer vision when used in gray conditions, such as working outdoors at dusk or in fog.

The new blue mirror tint is recommended for outdoor activities including landscaping, construction, roofing, utility work and general purpose sun protection. The tint reduces eyestrain and fatigue associated with sunlight and glare, and absorbs 99.9 percent of UVA and UVB radiation while allowing 15 percent of available light to pass through. This blue mirror tint also provides true color recognition and meets the traffic signal color requirements of ANSI Z80.3-1996.

"By adding amber and blue mirror lens tints to the new A800 Series, Willson continues to expand its offerings to protect the eyes in a variety of conditions," said Jennifer Blanchette, Willson product manager, "We are committed to providing high-quality and stylish eye protection that our customers want to wear."

The Willson A800 Series offers ultra-lightweight comfort in a stylish wrap-around, 9-base lens for unobstructed vision and high impact protection. Temple pieces feature aggressive sports styling, padded inserts that run down the length of the temple, and built-in flex for increased tension control. The soft, non-slip nose piece provides added comfort and a secure fit. Lenses feature a protective, scratch-resistant coating for longer wear. For extreme conditions, the Clear and TSR® Gray lenses are available with Willson Fog-Ban®.

Willson A800 Series products comply with the ANSI Z87+ high-impact standard in the United States. Unit pricing starts at a suggested list price of U.S. $2.45.
