Service Offers Globally Recognized Safety Approval


As a vendor of total safety engineering systems, Siemens Automation and Drives now offers mechanical equipment manufacturers and plant operators in industry the Center for Quality Engineering (CQE), a comprehensive service for machine safety in all phases of the product life cycle.

Siemens has set up this center to provide support in implementing all safety-related aspects and regulations concerning the safety of machinery in accordance with the relevant guidelines. The services range from advice on standards to be applied, such as the new EN 62061, through risk assessment and reduction, right up to evaluation and testing of electrical, mechanical and functional safety.

The Center for Quality Engineering is independent and has DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Thanks to this approval, all services and the neutral test reports will be recognized and accepted globally. Test marks and international approvals in accordance with the Canadian Standard Association, TUV North America and Underwriters Laboratories can be obtained on the basis of the international partnerships of the CQE. The service portfolio also includes EMC testing, lightning and overvoltage protection, reliability prognosis (MTBF), environmental simulation, and highly accelerated life tests. To achieve the safety of machinery and plants, Siemens offers Safety Integrated, a complete portfolio comprising certified products, comprehensive information, Solution Partners, and an accredited test lab.
