High-Brightness 7-W Led Fixture Provides 85% Power Savings

December 27th, 2006. High-brightness LED specialist Phoster Industries, Inc. introduces the new 7-W LED fixture for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. With only 7 W of power consumption (7 x 1-W LED) the lamp offers excellent light quality comparable to that of typical 50-W halogens (approximately 80 lux at 2 m from ceiling).

Phoster´s 7-W LED fixture saves 85% in energy (compared to a 50-W halogen) and guarantees 50,000 hours of non-stop illumination without colour or intensity loss (approximately 6 years 24/7) which eliminates the long-term costly maintenance expenses caused by halogens burning out every 2,000 hours.

Featuring a high-end optoelectronic design, the high-brightness light generates no heat into the environment and includes a thermal control system that keeps the temperature of the device cool (only 65 ºC). This avoids "burned ceilings" and the unpleasant heat generated by halogens, which is a great advantage not only in terms of user comfort but also in air conditioning savings.

The lighting device features beautiful and robust anodized aluminium finishes capable of standing harsh atmospheric conditions. The lamp is 9 cm tall and has a diameter of 51 mm (MR16 plug & play) to perfectly replace typical dichroic halogens without changing the existing installation.

The fixture is ideal for applications in which extra low power consumption, constant illumination, absence of heat, and a stylish appearance are critical factors. Typical applications are found in elevator cabins, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, private properties, industrial plants, laboratories, and server rooms, among many others.
