HydroTherm to Feature Updated KN Series Boiler With On-Board Control Panels at the AHR Expo, Booth 1325

WESTFIELD, Mass., December 8, 2006 -- HydroTherm, a leading manufacturer of cast-iron commercial and residential boilers and heating systems, will feature the newly updated KN self adaptive boilers at the upcoming AHR Expo (Booth 1325), January 29 -31 at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

The KN Series is a family of high efficiency commercial, gas-fired boilers that feature a self-adaptive design tolerant to changing conditions. The newly updated KN boilers feature the on-board Heat-Net integrated boiler management control system. The Heat-Net platform provides the ability to control up to 16 KN units in a boiler network for optimized heating efficiency, without the need for a traditional "wall mount control panel". This control system also allows communications with various Building Management Systems such as LONWORKS, MODBUS, and BACNET. Although the use of analog control signals is still supported, a higher level of control precision, repeatability, and feedback is gained with the Heat-Net digital communications control.

Each KN boiler is manufactured with Mestek's unique Tru-Flow(tm) technology to control the air fuel mixture at all firing rates and multiple venting conditions. Combustion air is constantly tracked by the fuel gas flow through the gas valve to maintain combustion parameter consistency (CO2, O2, CO, NOx) throughout the full modulation firing range.

The KN line includes the KN-6, a 600,000 Btu model, the KN-10, a 1 million Btu boiler, and the KN-20, a 2 million Btu unit. Each is equipped with a low-noise blower, unique air inlet, and low velocity burner for whisper-quiet operation.

Additionally, KN boilers all have a small footprint of less than 29-inches, so they can be installed in a wide variety of new and retrofit applications, without occupying valuable floor-space. The KN line was designed to offer easy accessibility to all components and user-friendly controls provide multi-function monitoring in all operating modes with text display and intuitive diagnostics.
