Solder Pallet Material handles lead-free applications.
December 11, 2006 -
WaveMax(TM) 6000 combines non-woven random glass mat substrate with high-temperature, static dissipative epoxy resin system. Ratio of glass to epoxy is optimized for machining material and maintains flexural strength and rigidity needed for high temperature environments up to 315°C. Suited for low- to medium-volume production environments, including prototyping, it has flexural strength in excess of 30,000 psi.

New WaveMax(TM) 6000 Thermoset Solder Pallet Material for Lead Free
POSTVILLE, IA - Norplex-Micarta announces WaveMax(TM) 6000, a high-temperature thermoset composite solder pallet material for lead-free applications. This new composite is ideal for low- to medium-volume production environments, including prototyping, that require enhanced durability and machineability.
WaveMax 6000 combines a non-woven random glass mat substrate with a high-temperature, static dissipative epoxy resin system. The ratio of glass to epoxy is optimized to make the material easy to machine, while still maintaining the flexural strength and rigidity needed for high temperature environments. Solder pallets must maintain their strength at temperatures as high as 315°C.
WaveMax 6000 solder pallet material is ideal for applications requiring fine feature separation with thin walls between features. WaveMax 6000 has a flexural strength in excess of 30,000 psi; at elevated temperatures it maintains flexural strength to 13,600 psi.
In addition to WaveMax 6000, Norplex-Micarta also offers wide range of WaveMax material grades for small- to high-volume production, as well as low- to high-temperature processes. See www.norplex-micarta.com for specific product information.
