New Bosch Brute-Tough Litheon 36V Drill/Driver and Hammer Drill/Driver
Up-to 40% Faster, Survive One-story Drop, Flexible Power System Compatible
Mount Prospect, Ill., November 14, 2006 - Today, Bosch Power Tools and Accessories announced the addition of two new Litheon 36V Flexible Power System compatible tools; the 38636 Brute-Tough 1/2-inch Drill/Driver and 18636 Brute-Tough(TM) 1/2-inch Hammer Drill/Driver. Up to 40-percent faster than competitive lithium-ion drills, twice the voltage and runtime of 18V competitors and tough enough to survive multiple one-story/10-ft drops onto concrete, the new Litheon 36V drill/driver and hammer drill/driver are for professionals looking to take the step up to corded power and performance.
The 38636 Litheon 36V Drill/Driver features 600 in.-lbs of torque and a two speed motor (0-450 and 0-1400 RPM) to accomplish heavy-duty applications previously impossible with 18V tools. For professionals who need to drill into masonry and light concrete in addition to basic drilling applications, the 18636 36V FPS Hammer Drill/driver features a two-speed motor (0-450 and 0-1500 RPM), plus up to 18,000 beats per minute (BPM) and 600 in.-lbs. of torque.
Each tool is compatible with Bosch Flexible Power System. Comprised of two different 36V packs, a Litheon SlimPack and FatPack, the Flexible Power System allows users to customize their tool to the application based on weight or runtime. Used with the 18636 Hammer Drill/Driver, the SlimPack boasts up to 15-percent faster speed and 15-percent longer runtime over competitive 18V tools. And with the FatPack, the same hammer drill/driver is up to 40-percent faster and runs two-times longer than competitive 18V tools.
The following kits are available with varying Flexible Power System battery options:
· 38636-01 Litheon 36V 1/2-inch Drill/Driver Kit with 2 SlimPacks
· 18636-01 Litheon 36V 1/2-inch Hammer Drill/Driver Kit with 1 SlimPack and 1 FatPack
· 18636-02 Litheon 36V 1/2-inch Hammer Drill/Driver Kit with 2 FatPacks
· 18636-03 Litheon 36V 1/2-inch Hammer Drill/Driver Kit with 2 SlimPacks
Both the 38636 Litheon 36V Drill/Driver and 18636 Litheon 36V Hammer Drill/Driver are Bosch Brute-Tough, designed to survive numerous 10-ft drops onto concrete. The reasons for their unmatched durability include a Dura-Shield(TM) exterior housing, composed of a shock absorbing and flexible ABS/Nylon blend. Internally, a steel reinforced collar strengthens the tools front end; a Uni-Body Power Train maintains perfect alignment between the clutch, gearbox and motor for the most secure and durable drive train system on the market; and an all metal gear box enables the tool's maximum power, life and durability.
Other time saving and long-lasting features include a ratcheting single-sleeve 1/2-inch chuck featuring carbide tipped jaws for the strongest bit retention. And accessible brushes allow professionals to accomplish quick maintenance and minimize downtime on the job.
