Hand Held Products(TM) Launches Dolphin(R) 7600 Mobile Computer

WARRINGTON, England, November 6/-- Mobile Computer Sets a New Standard for Combining Small Size and Affordability in a Full-Featured Terminal

Hand Held Products, the global leader in image-based linear and 2D data collection solutions today announced the latest mobile computer in its Dolphin 7000 series - the Dolphin(R) 7600.

The Dolphin 7600 is the first mobile computer to provide the functionality and versatility of a true industrial-grade mobile computing device packaged in a small, ergonomic, reliable and affordable solution.

Featuring Adaptus(TM) Imaging Technology 5.0, the 7600 has the ability to read any linear or 2D barcode and capture digital images - empowering users to capture and manage more data then ever before. The Dolphin 7600 is ideal for light-industrial applications in retail, transportation and logistics, field services, postal, route accounting, healthcare, and warehousing.

"Hand Held Products' Dolphin 7600 addresses a growing need for affordable, entry-class rugged mobile computers without having to compromise on performance, features and functionality," said David Krebs, practice director at Venture Development Corporation (VDC).

Innovative features of the Dolphin 7600 include:

- A strategic weight distribution that naturally balances the device in the user's hand without additional gripping or stress

- An integrated finger saddle that mirrors the natural curves of the hand, creating an effortless grip with easy, one-handed access to all keys

- An angled barcode scanner designed to limit the amount of hand and wrist movement required to scan barcodes

- Rugged, magnesium alloy internal chassis with component shock mounts - survives multiple drops to concrete from 1.5 m

- IP54 rating - protected against blown dust and water intrusion

- Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE 5.0 standard platform for simple integration and intuitive operation

"The Dolphin 7600 truly represents a next step in mobile computing technology. It blends the advanced data collection, communication and computing architecture - that until now were only found in full-size industrial devices - with a smaller, more lightweight and ergonomic design," said Kevin Ahearn, VP/GM, Mobile & Wireless SBU, Hand Held Products. "We spent an extraordinary amount of time on understanding how users will interact with the device, enabling us to deliver an end product that we feel is second to none in terms of its intuitiveness and usability."

Designed for the user that is constantly on move, the Dolphin 7600 combines the versatility of 802.11b/g and Bluetooth(R) wireless communication, keeping workers connected to mission-critical information throughout the enterprise. Advanced Full-Shift Power Management enables the 7600 to deliver bar code reading and batch applications for an entire work-shift, delivering uninterrupted data processing and enhanced worker productivity while significantly reducing battery replacement costs.

The Dolphin 7600 is available in the course of Q4 through Hand Held Products' sales teams and channel network. For more information on the 7600, please visit www.handheld.com/7600.
