Oilgear's New PVWJ Pump in an Improved Design

(October 6, 2006; Milwaukee, Wisconsin) The Oilgear Company introduces their new PVWJ open loop, axial piston pump, uniquely designed for enhanced stability in low- to medium-horsepower, industrial and mobile hydraulic applications. Featuring an improved design, the PVWJ pump is available in three frame sizes and ten displacements, allowing for greater flexibility to selectively match pressure and capacity. Each frame size effectively delivers low flow/high pressure to low pressure/high flow ranges. And, the PVWJ pumps are directly interchangeable with Oilgear type PVWH pumps.

With six different control types, the PVWJ pump permits field interchangeability without disconnecting from the drive or system piping. Adding to the pump's versatility, the new unit can be integrally coupled together with two or more Oilgear axial piston, variable delivery pumps through a single drive shaft. This feature allows the pump to be combined for large volume circuits, individual use, or to drive auxiliary devices when required. A Remote Compensator Valve can also be installed for remote operation of single and multiple pumps for greater versatility.

The PVWJ pump utilizes Oilgear's patented pressure lubricated swashblock design that provides high performance for high-pressure, high cyclical operation, and the company's exclusive "hard-on hard" rotating group - a hardened cylinder surface running on a hardened valve plate - which delivers a higher degree of contamination resistance and increases the lifecycle of the pump. Working together with the polymerous saddle bearings, cylinder mounted polymerous journal bearings, and steal shoes with specially treated faces, the PVWJ is capable of operating with low viscosity or other special fluids.

Other main features of the PVWJ pump include:
o A quiet valve plate design to minimize noise at typical electric motor speeds
o SAE keyed or SAE splined shaft
o Sealed front shaft bearing for operation with special fluids and side loading
o Up to 3000 rpm
o Maximum pressure of 5800 psi
o Theoretical maximum displacements ranging from 0.66 in³/rev (10,8 ml/rev) to
7.94 in³/rev (130,2)

Since 1921, Oilgear has been a leading global supplier of advanced engineered hydraulic equipment and fluid power systems for a variety of mobile and industrial applications. Every product is shipped with Oilgear's Performance Assurance commitment to stay with the product's installation until the equipment performs as specified.
