Constructed with plastic housing and metal base plate, FN 3025/3026 three-phase EMC filters are rated for currents from 20-50 A and max continuous operating voltages of 3 x 520 Vac. RoHS-compliant products do not require potting compound and feature hinged transparent safety covers and electrical connections based on motor drive technology. While FN 3025 filters are suited for screw mounting, FN 3026 filters are optimized for mounting on TS 35 DIN-rails.

Schaffner's First Plastic EMC Filters Offer Functionality, Safety and Compact Size
EDISON, N.J., November 2006 -- Schaffner EMC, a leading provider of EMI/RFI components, now introduces its first EMC filters with modern plastic housings. Because of their design, the new low-leakage, three-phase EMC filters are compact, lightweight and offer a high level of functionality. Their design is also user-friendly and reduces installation time.
The use of plastic materials and the elimination of potting compound in the FN 3025/3026 allow a weight reduction of up to 50 percent when compared to conventional EMC components. By combining the plastic housing with a metal base plate, EMC behavior is not compromised. In addition, these highly functional filters feature electrical connections based on motor drive technology, hinged transparent safety covers and filter circuitry with low Y-capacitor values to minimize the filter's leakage current.
These new filters are available with two mounting options to provide flexibility for application-specific installation. FN 3025 filters are suitable for traditional screw mounting while the FN 3026 are optimized for time-saving mounting on TS 35 DIN-rails. Typical applications for the new filters include variable frequency drives, automation and controls, food processing equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and safety applications.
FN 3025/3026 filters are rated for currents from 20 A to 50 A (at 50°C) and for maximum continuous operating voltages of 3 x 520 VAC. The 20 A filters measure 5.9" L x 1.97" W x 3.11" H (150 mm x 50 mm x 79 mm). Both the FN 3025 and FN 3026 filters are offered with two different performance levels (L-types and P-types). All versions are distinguished by minimal filter leakage current of 0.4 (L-types) or 2.5mA (P-types) at 480 VAC/50 Hz. These plastic, compact filters are UL, CSA and ENEC approved and are RoHS-compliant.
