Electric Grinders produce 1,500 W of power.

November 7, 2006 - Comprised of 5 models with various speed ranges, K-Series features low-noise gears and abrasion-resistant carbon brushes. Constant ventilation shaft across units enables constant volume flow, while air gap and outer diameter of stator are cooled evenly. Digitally constructed, steady power electronics regulate engine speed and keep speed constant even under high loads. Starting current limitation, overload protection, and warm restart protection are provided.

"The Grinding Stars - Power At Its Finest"

When you save time and work, you also save costs. The new, easy-to-handle and powerful K-series electrical tools from Suhner fulfil these requirements excellently.

Motor construction
What at first sight looks like a conventional electrical tool with a universal motor drive is exactly that when you look again. At the high level of maturity this type of product has already achieved, it is an illusion to believe in a revolution. However, and this becomes apparent when you take a third look at the new 1500 W electrical
tool from Suhner. Due to the optimization and further development of many details, a product range has been created with a power emmission that is over 50 % more than the 750 W and 1000 W predecessors of the D and F series, at the same volume.

The electrical coil design, thermal behavior, assembly and construction of the commutation, the air gap, robust bearing and massive diameter of the armature shaft - all of these are factors that have been optimized, leading to excellent results.

This motor is marked by its well-engineered construction using selected materials, all of which is confirmed by its very high degree of efficiency.

The following further improvements must be given special mention.

The overall construction
All components have been manufactured precisely and are made of high-quality materials. Durable, low-noise gears and abrasionresistant carbon brushes contribute a great deal to the longevity of these new electrical tools. The shaft adjustment on the angle head still deserves its good name, even after years, as it is built to be very robust.

Ventilation
An increase in power is always accompanied by a higher operating temperature. The motor is well-protected because of the way it is constructed in the corresponding insulation class. In addition, the smooth and efficient ventilation means the tools have a long operational life without problems. This also applies when faced with the highest demands of day-to-day operation.

The ventilation slots in the handle ensure that enough fresh air is sucked in. The louvers behind the ventilation slots prevent unintentional contact with electrographic components, on the one hand, and achieve velocity and therefore an even flow around the
entire motor due to their variable setting, on the other. The constant ventilation shaft across the entire machine enables a constant volume flow, which has increased by 30 % compared to previous machines. Furthermore, the air gap and the outer diameter of the stator are cooled evenly.

With the radial ventilator at the front on the armature and the airconducting cap, the heated air is blown out to the front through four openings between the motor housing and the frontal construction at below 45°.

This special blowing out method has many advantages: no gusts of air in your face, no direct air forwards on to your hand or the work piece, the frontal construction is not part of the ventilation and can therefore be designed to carry out its function perfectly.

Digital regulation
The digitally constructed, steady power electronics regulate the engine speed and keep the speed constant even under high loads. Using the easy-grip thumb wheel, you can adjust the speed over a large range of settings. Together with the very efficient ventilation, this motor also provides enough power in the lower regulatory range.

Equipped with the most modern protective elements, these steady power electronics guarantee safe operation. Everything is integrated as standard in the series - from the starting current limitation, to the overload protection during high, long-lasting loads, right up to the undervoltage protection or warm restart protection. The result is a large, optimally usable range of speeds for all electrical tools:
USK 3R 1 200 - 3 000 min-1
USK 6R 2 600 - 6 000 min-1
USK 15R 6 900 - 15 000 min-1
UWK 10R 4 600 - 10 000 min-1
UPK 4R 1 800 - 4 000 min-1

Equipped with the most modern protective elements, these steady power electronics guarantee safe operation. Everything is integrated as standard in the series - from the starting current limitation, to the overload protection during high, long-lasting loads, right up to the undervoltage protection or warm restart protection.

Handling, operation
The new K-series from Suhner is one of the most compact electrical tools on the market. The ergonomically designed handle lies very comfortably in your hand. The easy-to-operate thumb wheel for setting the speed and the safety ON/OFF switch both enable safe and relaxed operation. In the angle grinder, the additional handle can be fixed in three different positions. Because of its ergonomically selected tangential deviation, the angle grinder can be inserted without wear.

The new SUHNER K-series
The present product range includes the 5 products USK 3R, USK 6R, USK 15R, UWK 10R and UPK 4R. An extension of the range with other Suhner frontal constructions is planned.
