Weigh Counter suits bulk packaging operations.

November 3, 2006 - Using advanced sensor technology, Accu-Scale® 220 detects and counts products as light as 0.003 oz. Range counting function allows user to select range for number of parts in batch. Upper and lower target counts can be set, and automatic cycling only occurs once value falls within pre-set range. Once programmed batch amount is obtained, system automatically dispenses each batch into pre-opened Autobag bag.

Autobag® Accu-Scale® 220 Offers High Speed, High Accuracy Weigh-counting

STREETSBORO, OH - October 31, 2006 - Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability packaging systems, has announced new productivity enhancements to its Accu-Scale 220 Weigh Counter. Designed for bulk packaging operations, the new system features a range counting function that improves flexibility while increasing packaging speed and accuracy.

This new function allows the user to select a range for the number of parts in a batch, which provides higher throughput in applications where speed is the primary performance requirement. Upper and lower target counts can be set, and automatic cycling will only occur once the value falls within the pre-set range, enabling full control of packaging accuracy. Additionally, range targets and current actual counts are easily set and monitored using the operator-friendly control interface.

"Automated Packaging Systems is continually upgrading its products with advanced technology as it becomes available, and in this case, our engineering team has developed a high speed improvement that will increase productivity and profitability for bulk packagers," explains Tim Groff, Director of Marketing.

Using advanced sensor technology, the Autobag Accu-Scale 220 is capable of detecting and counting product as light as 1/10th of a gram in weight (0.003 oz.). The scale virtually programs itself once a sample is placed into the tray. As more products are added, the new weight is instantly measured and the piece count is displayed. Once the programmed batch amount is obtained, the system automatically dispenses each batch into a pre-opened Autobag bag.

The Accu-Scale 220 is designed for use with the company's Autobag packaging systems. By adding the PI 412C thermal transfer printer, a complete weigh-count, Print-n-Pack(TM) system is achieved.
