October 2006 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, announced the launch of its new heavy-duty compact router (D26670). This router offers users enhanced cut capabilities for greater performance and ease of use. Designed for woodworkers, the compact router is ideal for window and door installations, display and cabinet work, furniture crafting, and countertop repair and installation.
With a 5.6 amp, 30,000 RPM motor, the D26670 delivers high performance and torque, ideal for use on hardwoods and in small router applications. The improved spindle lock design offers increased productivity with faster bit changes using one wrench. The 1/4" collet provides end users with added versatility by allowing them to cut with round-over bits, laminate bits and a variety of decorative detail bits. DeWALT also designed the D26670 to accept standard guide bushings, which allow the user to cut mini dovetails, hinge butt and strike and latch templates, among other distinctive cuts.
To further enhance tool functionality, the D26670 is equipped with an extra-large base locking knob. Additionally, the compact router has a large, vertical switch allowing the user to cut power quickly and easily.

DeWALT has also introduced the compact router combo kit (D26670K) to simplify the purchasing process for end users, providing a cost effective package that delivers maximum versatility. The combo kit includes the D26670 and two new bases for offset and tilt base applications.
