New SKIL Jigsaw Loaded with User-Friendly Features
Robust jigsaw provides various cutting options to power through tough materials
Mt. Prospect, Ill., September 28, 2006 - Once again, by building on its heritage and excellence in cutting, Skil Power Tools introduces its newest laser guided orbital cut scrolling jigsaw. The new 4690 jigsaw rounds out its already extensive line of jigsaws and provides best-in-class features for a great price.
From the novice to the master DIYer, the 4690 was built with the end-user in mind. Due to its numerous features and capacities, this new jigsaw will power through tough cuts in metal or through jobs that require such tight precision cuts as in decorative cut-outs.
Two built-in features, a laser guide to help the user through straight cuts and a work light that illuminates dimly lit areas, ensure accurate cuts every time the user picks up the saw. In addition to these valuable built-in features, the 4690 is capable of scrolling a full 360 degrees for intricate, detailed cuts. And with its versatile five-position orbital cut-control, with recommended settings for common materials printed right on the tool, users can make a fast and aggressive cut or a smooth and controlled cut through a wide range of materials with ease.

This tool is equipped with a precision blade guide system, which provides additional support to the blade and helps reduce imperfect cuts. The jigsaw also has a tool-less blade change system that accepts both T and U shape blades. Similar to all other Skil jigsaws, this saw comes with a tool-less foot adjustment for angled cuts.
A powerful 6.0 amp motor provides enough muscle to tackle the most rigorous cuts. All these features coupled with the on-tool blade storage, Soft Grip handle and dust blower with on/off switch, make this tool a necessity for any DIYer. It will be available at home improvement centers nationwide in October with a suggested manufacturers' retail price of $79.99.
