Sumitomo's New X-Bar Boring Bars Feature a Dampening Mechanism to Eliminate Vibrations

Mount Prospect, IL - Sumitomo Electric introduces the revolutionary Anti Vibration X-Bar, for deep-hole boring. The X-Bar features a special dampening mechanism that eliminates chatter, resulting in extremely fine finishes and extra long tool life.
Ideal for extended overhangs, the X-Bar provides smooth finishes at up to 6X the length to diameter. Both cost-competitive with a solid carbide bar and performance-superior to a steel bar, the X-Bar is the best option for deep hole boring.

The X-Bar is ideal for step boring, bottom facing and copying. All X-Bars are coolant thru and available with CCMT, TCMT and TPMT style inserts in a wide variety of chipbreakers - including the new ELU and ESU. Shank sizes range from 0.500 - 1.000" diameter.

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is a world leader in both research and development and the production of tools including inserts, drills, endmills, and steel products for metal cutting industries worldwide. Sumitomo has pioneered state-of-the-art chipbreakers and insert geometries, setting industry standards. Sumitomo's inserts are available for every application from heavy roughing to fine finishing, including complex carbides, ceramics, PCBN, PCD, composite cermet materials and multi-layer aluminum oxide with compound substrate coatings.
