Glass Sealant withstands temperatures to 1,450°F.


October 9, 2006 - Aremco-Seal(TM) 617 is used to produce hermetic seals in porous ceramics and refractories in electrical and high-vacuum applications. Single-part, water-based glass coating, applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying, cleans up prior to curing with warm water. Curing is accomplished by setting at room temperature for 30 min and then heating to 1,600°F for 30 min. Odorless product contains no VOCs, and no outgassing will occur upon curing or during operation.

SUMMARY

Aremco-Seal(TM) 617, a new high temperature glass sealant developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to produce hermetic seals in porous ceramics and refractories for applications to 1450 °F (788 °C).

FEATURES

Aremco-Seal(TM) 617 is a single part, water-based, glass coating used to seal porosity in ceramics and refractories used to 1450 °F (788 °C) in electrical and high vacuum applications where hermeticity is required.

Aremco-Seal(TM) 617 is easily applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying and cleans up prior to curing with warm water. Curing is accomplished by setting at room temperature for 30 minutes then heating to 1600 °F for an additional 30 minutes.

Aremco-Seal(TM) 617 is odorless and contains no volatile organic compounds that may affect the environment. No outgassing will occur upon curing or during operation.

Aremco-Seal(TM) 617 is available from stock in standard pint, quart, gallon and five-gallon containers.
