Smith Micro Software Unveils 'QuickLink Music' Dramatically Improving the Mobile Music Management Experience

Intuitive Multimedia Management Application Allows Wireless Carriers to Brand Their Multimedia Service Offerings From Online Stores to Mobile Handsets

LOS ANGELES, CTIA Wirelees IT & Entertainment 2006, Sept. 12 -- Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI), a developer of a wide range of software products and services for the wireless market, announces QuickLink(C) Music, an intuitive, PC-based multimedia manager for mobile phones. QuickLink Music has been designed around the needs of both wireless carriers and their customers. The application provides end-users with the ability to easily download music files from a carrier's music store(s), to organize their music library, and to upload songs to a broad range of mobile devices. QuickLink Music also offers the carrier the opportunity to custom-brand the entire multimedia experience.

QuickLink Music is a highly-intuitive application making it quick and easy for end-users to install the application and drivers needed to synchronize music between their PC and mobile devices. QuickLink Music also facilitates managing the mobile phone's available memory -- the "at a glance" feature tells the user how many songs can fit in the mobile device at any time.

"We are very excited to be offering wireless carriers such an innovative solution that takes the guess work out of mobile music and promotes the carrier's brand throughout the entire multimedia management experience. This is a testament to our ability to develop unique solutions that benefit our wireless customers' service offerings," said William W. Smith, Jr., President and CEO of SMSI. "Just as camera phones gained consumer acceptance over traditional cellular phones, we believe that market indicators now show that music-capable mobile phones are fast becoming the "must have" device for music lovers on the go."

End-user benefits to QuickLink Music include:
o A streamlined application installation routine
o Integrated support for connecting to the most popular music-capable mobile phones
o The ability to navigate to online multimedia stores from your PC
o An easy process for purchasing songs for download to the PC
o The ability to organize your music library directly from the PC, including the abilities to create playlists, view by genre/artist, etc.
o The ability to monitor the phone's internal and removable memory resources

Key benefits for wireless carriers include the abilities to:
o Customize and brand the entire multimedia management experience from start to finish
o Drive customers directly to preferred online music stores
o Increase subscriber data usage and ARPU
o Offer through their retail stores, music accessory kits compatible with their broad range of multimedia handsets
o Support industry-standard digital rights management, OMA and OMA 2.0
