Handheld documenting process communicators and calibrators, MFC 4100 and MFT 4000 Series, are available with DPC Manager option used to update products with new firmware and HART communication files as they are released. Optional data management software adds documenting function and lets users retrieve saved calibration results and/or HART configurations from handhelds. Information is saved in .csv format for import to spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel®.

Cleveland, OH - August 23, 2006 Cleveland, OH - Meriam Process Technologies introduces affordable Data Management software to document results from Meriam's popular MFC 4100 HART Communicator and MFT 4000 Series of documenting process communicators / calibrators. The software, called DPC Manager, is normally used to update these handheld products with new firmware and with HART communication files as they are released. The new DPC Manager Data Management option adds a powerful documenting function to the utility. Users can retrieve saved calibration results and / or HART configurations from the handhelds. The information is then saved in .csv format to spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel®.
The new DPC Manager Data Management option provides users with an easy and affordable way to save and print important calibration and configuration information. The MFC 4100 HART Communicator saves HART device configurations to memory to document as found and as left parameter values. The configurations can be uploaded to a host PC for viewing parameter lists or the lists can be printed for record purposes. The MFT 4000 Series multifunction calibrators generate calibration procedures for pressure and temperature transmitters and saves the results to memory to document the as found and as left conditions. The results can be uploaded to a host PC, viewed in spreadsheet format, and printed in certificate format. Certificates are complete with approval signature line for filing and record purposes.
The Data Management feature is a one-way tool; results can be uploaded from MFT or MFC handheld memory to a host PC. Data changed in the spreadsheet application cannot be returned to the handheld for use in the field.
