Liquid Injection Molding Machines is designed for LSR.

August 31, 2006 - Sil-Pro Series Liquid Silicone and Rubber Molding Machines employ V-Line Plunger System for optimal molding quality with exact dosing and no trimming. Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)-dedicated machines shut off material feeding pressure with back-flow prevention system and offer exact dosing without short shots or overpacks. Along with stable metering level, units feature suck-back function that eliminates need for shut-off nozzle.

Sodick Plustech Introduces World's First LIM Machine with V-Line Plunger System, SIL-PRO Series

SCHAUMBURG, IL - (August 28, 2006) New from Sodick Plustech, the Sil-Pro Series of Liquid Silicone & Rubber Molding Machines, made in Japan, features a V-Line Plunger System for improved molding quality with exact dosing and reduced labor cost with no trimming.

Already a material of choice in many industries including medical, Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) seals out moisture and resists vibration. With the introduction of Plustech's Sil-Pro series of LSR-dedicated machines using the V-line plunger system, molders are assured of flashless exact dosing (without short shots or overpacks) for the highest quality parts.

The check-ring component of a conventional LIM machine cannot prevent back-flow or accomplish packing and holding, and is not capable of providing equal filling and meter volumes. Traditional machines also require a shut-off nozzle. Constant material feeding pressure from the screw to the nozzle is always present. What's more, material regularly leaks from the gate when the mold is open.

In contrast, Plustech's Sil-Pro series of LIM machines with V-Line Plunger System shuts off material feeding pressure with a patented back-flow prevention system. Other advantages include an extremely stable metering level, and the elimination of the shut-off nozzle through the use of a suck-back function.

With the Plustech Sil-Pro LIM machine, part quality is easily managed through monitoring injection parameters such as Filling Time or Cushion. The Sil-Pro series also boasts 10 times better weight deviation specs, excellent low speed, low pressure injection control and an injection valve that employs linear motor technology.

Plustech's new machine is ideal for medical, seal packing, o-ring and keypad applications. Featuring the same structure as a plastic injection molding machine, it is easily integrated into existing production lines.

Plustech's Sil-Pro series of LIM Machines are available in both horizontal and vertical models. Maximum clamping forces are 5.5 - 385 US TONS (Horizontal) and 22 - 165 US TONS (Vertical).
