Airmars New Ultrasonic Weatherstation Provides Advanced Weather Monitoring For Any Application

Unique Device Measures Seven Meteorological Factors Without any Moving Parts

Milford, N.H. August 28, 2006 - Airmar Technology Corp., a leading American manufacturer of transducers and sensors for industrial and marine applications, has introduced the new LB100 Ultrasonic WeatherStation. This advanced electronic device capable of accurately measuring and recording a wide range of important meteorological factors without a single moving part can turn any compatible Windows-based laptop or desktop PC into a professional quality WeatherStation.

This compact, rugged unit accurately measures and calculates apparent wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, air and dew point temperatures, relative humidity and wind chill temperature. Airmars Ultrasonic WeatherStation meets a growing need among crop growers, construction companies, outdoor leisure centers, avionics and vehicle manufacturers, chemical and steel processing plants, weather enthusiasts, and others for real-time, site specific weather information. Accurate data can help organizations make important decisions regarding weather conditions that affect safety and operations. Traditional weather instrumentation is composed of several individual sensors including wind cups, which are prone to breaking and are less accurate at low speeds. Airmars WeatherStation incorporates seven sensors, with no moving parts, all in one compact unit.

It provides the user with a wealth of useful data to monitor conditions, watch for dangerous storms or help predict weather or not to plan outdoor activities or work. This information can also be used to anticipate weather fronts by monitoring wind speed and direction, air temperature and barometric pressure.

With its standard internal compass and built-in GPS, Airmars Ultrasonic WeatherStation can even provide highly accurate true wind speed/direction computations when used in a moving vehicle or boat. With this device, users can also have the capability to log onto their WeatherStation computer via the Internet to check weather conditions remotely.

Since AirmarsUltrasonic WeatherStation has no moving parts, it provides superior accuracy and longevity in the field. Instead, this device uses a series of advanced ultrasonic transducers to instantly measure even the slightest changes in wind speed and direction (direction sensitivity is +/- 1.5 degree with a wind speed resolution of 0.12 mph). With no moving parts, its performance cant be adversely affected by wear, dirt or mechanical failure a big advantage over mechanical wind and weather measuring devices.

Each unit is tested in Airmars own state-of-the-art wind tunnel and calibrated for precision performance before leaving the factory. The system includes a compactWeatherStationsensor with a single removable cable for easy installation. The included easy-to-use WeatherCaster PC software provides a range of weather data display screens and background options for simple operation and customization by the user. The standard RS485 data interface allows for the flexibility of designing your own software program to fit your specific application.

AirmarsLB100Ultrasonic WeatherStationcarries a MSRP of $1195.00.
