Bio-Based Soybean Chemistry Enhances Long Term Rust Protection and Improves Safety

In its continuing Advanced Green Chemistry Research, Cortec® Corporation has enhanced its EcoLine(TM) Long Term Rust Preventive. The product has now been verified as 85% bio-based by tests conducted at Iowa State University as part of the EPA's Federal Bio-based Product Preferred Procurement Program ("FB4P"), dictated by the Farm Bill of 2002. The product offers excellent compatibility with environmental and user safety while providing long term rust protection for multi-metals in indoor and outdoor applications.

Utilizing revolutionary soybean derivative methyl esters in conjunction with Cortec® patented Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI(TM)) chemistry, metal parts can receive up to 24 months indoor protection and up to 6 months outdoor protection. EcoLine(TM) performs well in coastal and marine conditions against aggressive salt water conditions. In addition to long term rust protection, the EcoLine(TM) Rust Preventive new technology yields excellent penetrating properties. It cuts through surface contamination and other fluids. For moving components it helps loosen frozen and rusted areas and provide the extra lubricity needed for free motion.

All this is achieved without relying on costly or harmful old technology petroleum blends. An immediately noticeable distinction is EcoLine's neutral, natural smell compared to the oily pungent odor from conventional rust preventives. EcoLine(TM) is VOC free, non-flammable and biodegradable. With Cortec's Advanced Green Chemistry, the enhanced EcoLine(TM) product carries a health rating of 1, a flammability rating of 1, and a Reactivity rating of 0.

EcoLine Long Term Rust Preventive comes in ready to use form. No mixing or diluting is required. The product is easily applied by hand spray, dip, brush, or conventional spray equipment.
