Dot Matrix Printer Boasts Improved Firmware

Waltham, MA - Extech Data Systems, a leading developer of portable printers for enterprise-wide applications, announces the S2000i portable two-inch printer for mobile computing. With enhanced durability and the utilization of a wide range of communication interface versions, the S2000i provides a user-friendly and efficient portable printing solution.

As versatile as it is durable, the S2000i contains 128 bytes of firmware, resident fonts, and downloadable fonts in the flash-based Waferscale PROM. The impact printhead has the capability of providing up to 1.5 million character lines before failure with a high specification printing range, making the S2000i one of the longest lasting portable printers on the market.

Extech Data Systems has designed the S2000i to be Epson compatible and drive the Epson M190 series impact printhead. Available communication interface versions include RS-232 Serial, Infrared (IrDA), and Magnetic Card. A powerful integrated micro-controller manages each feature supported by the S2000i, and the unit includes a convenient enclosed paper supply that is easy to use and change.

A range of custom configurations are also available for the S2000i portable printer, further ensuring that each mobile worker is outfitted with the most state-of-the-art portable printing solution available in today's market.
