Versatile Interactive Whiteboard Adjusts for Teachers and Students
ATLANTA, July 7 -- Promethean, a global leader in interactive learning technology, introduced to America today Activboard+2, a new short- throw mounted projector adjustable interactive whiteboard that eliminates the need for expensive in-ceiling wiring and installation that will yield savings for older schools as well as districts with new buildings.
Activboard+2 can be installed in less time than a standard system because it does not require in-ceiling wiring, a major consideration when retro- fitting older classrooms or specifying new classroom construction. The affordable all-in-one system is height adjustable for teachers and students and has advanced security features.

In contrast to traditional projection systems, Activboard+2's short-throw Sanyo projector is mounted to the board by a strong steel arm positioned approximately three feet away from the board screen and can be operated by remote-control only, giving teachers complete control. The integrated short- throw projector also dramatically reduces the "shadow effect" that can distort content images on the board.
The flexibility of the stand's height setting also means the system can be used in most classrooms and can be simply adjusted to the appropriate height for both the instructor and class. It can also project the customer's logo at start-up which, combined with the color, provide subtle security features.
Activboard+2 is bundled with Promethean's award-winning Activstudio or Activprimary lesson development software that is compatible with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) or Mac OS X. Activprimary, the leading whiteboard software designed specifically for use in primary schools and kindergarten, has large, easy-to-use tools located at the bottom of the screen, allowing young learners to more easily interact with activities on the Activboard. Special teacher tools on the top of the screen and a huge resource library make lesson development quick, easy and fun.
