New Brady Arc Flash Labels and Training Aids Increase Job Site Safety
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN-(June 14, 2006)-Brady Corporation (NYSE:BRC) now offers new stock labels and training aids for enhanced arc flash awareness and safety. The new warning labels meet NEC/NFPA requirements for field marking switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers, and more. The new training aids, which include a poster, sign, label, wallet card, and work permit, are designed to promote safe, compliant electrical work practices, reducing accidents and injuries.
Brady's new arch flash stock labels warn of both arc flash and shock hazards and are now available in a variety of sizes, including an extra-small 2" x 4" label size designed to fit limited space on disconnect switches and electrical panels. The arc flash labels are made of durable B-302 polyester with an overlaminate that withstands harsh environments. The aggressive acrylic adhesive sticks permanently to a wide variety of surfaces. The labels are available in packs or cost-effective 100-label rolls.
The new arc flash training aids promote awareness of the dangers associated with arc flash accidents and reinforce workplace training. Brady's large, full-color laminated poster highlights the activities and conditions where arc flash can occur and provides workers with guidelines on how to best protect themselves. The poster includes a table that clearly identifies the personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements for each arc flash hazard category and incident energy level, as mandated by NFPA-70E. This table is also made available in the form of 10" x 14" rigid signs, 3.5" x 5" self-adhesive labels, and laminated wallet cards. The poster, sign, label, and wallet card are all laminated to withstand abrasion, dirt, chemicals, and moisture. These awareness aids provide workers with a quick and easy way to confirm the proper PPE to boost compliance and job site safety.
Brady's preprinted work permits meet NFPA-70E requirements that mandate the use of a written permit for most tasks involving work on or near live electrical parts. The preprinted work permits use checkboxes and fill-in-the-blank bullet points to ensure that all necessary information and sign-offs are entered without omissions or lost time. The two-ply carbonless copy permits allow workers to keep one copy at the job site while the other copy is archived for recordkeeping purposes.
