Elsner Announces New Cross-Wipe Folder
Elsner Engineering Works, Inc. announces its new Cross-Wipe Folding Machine Model CWF-2-400. This model is ideally suited for converting consumer non-woven cross-folded wet wipes from jumbo rolls of material automatically. The Model CWF-2-400 is specifically designed to convert wipes that are cross-folded including, but not limited to cosmetic wipes, make-up remover wipes, sachet wipes, purse wipes and airline and restaurant refresher towels.
The unique Cross-Wipe Machine starts with a jumbo roll of a wide variety of non-woven fabrics including difficult to handle spun laced and spun bond materials. After the material is unwound, it is wetted based on the customer requirements and then folded in the length direction producing a variety of fold styles including, but not limited to a Z-, C-, W- or M-fold. The substrate is then cut-off and cross folded onto itself using mechanical fold cylinders using a unique designed gripper system that insures accurate cut-off and cross-folding. No problematic vacuum cylinders are used on the Elsner system!
The ELSNER Model CWF-2-400 will accommodate web widths up to 400 mm (15.7") wide and will cross-fold into a variety of sizes as defined by the customer. The machine easily produces up to 1400 wipes per minute or 120 finished stacks per minute and can accommodate count sizes from a single wipe up to a 40-count without problems. Elsner utilizes its patented stacker system offering single lane discharge into an optional flow wrapper or other boxing equipment.
