Faraday Cages for Vibration-Isolation Units

BOSTON, MA - Kinetic Systems, Inc. (KSI) announces the availability of their complete line of Faraday Cages. Now offered are the newest addition, the Faraday Cage/Darkbox, the standard mesh Faraday Cages, and their complete Faraday workspace designs.

The newest addition, the Faraday Cage/Darkbox, utilizes solid, electrically continuous aluminum walls to protect sensitive devices from electrical and magnetic interference and also to eliminate light and attenuate acoustic noise. Aluminum construction is enhanced with a durable powder-coat paint finish. Designed for use with Kinetic Systems 2200 Series BenchMate vibration-free tabletop platforms, the highly damped Faraday Cage/Darkbox is 30 inches high and features a solid-brass grounding block, large folding wing panel doors with magnetic closures for easy access to instrumentation, and entry ports for electrical connections, etc.

Kinetic Systems also offers workstation Faraday Cages built of high-density, 16-mesh copper screen for use with the company's ergonomic, high-performance vibration isolation systems. These enclosures can be customized with two hinged front doors, a roll-up door, or sliding doors.

Both the Faraday Cage/Darkbox and the high-density mesh models can be configured with fixed, hanging, or sliding shelves; monitor stands; electrical outlet strips; lighting; and other accessories. All models provide attenuation of up to 100 dB below 500 kHz, 60 dB below 50 MHz, and 20 dB below 5 GHz.

The Faraday Cage/Darkbox is available in sizes to fit the KSI 2200 Series platform, while the mesh Faraday Cages are available in a wide variety of lengths, heights, and depths to accommodate KSI workstations. Kinetic Systems also offers the ability to produce and install Faraday Cages custom designed to encompass entire production or testing environments. Faraday Cages are ideal in applications such as semiconductor processing, telecommunications, aerospace engineering, and medical research, virtually any application in which external vibrations or electrical and magnetic interference would adversely affect the operation of sensitive equipment.

Kinetic Systems, Inc., is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of vibration isolation equipment, optical tables, and related components used in a wide range of industries worldwide, including research and development, quality control, laboratories, and semiconductor manufacturing.
